Facilities available at Patagonia Lake State Park.

Fire Restrictions

Campfires allowed in fire-rings. Smoking allowed in developed areas. No smoking while hiking. Must provide own firewood, no gathering or cutting on park property. Check Current Agency Fire Restrictions and learn How to Extinguish a Campfire. When campfires are not restricted, you must provide your own firewood: no gathering wood or cutting trees on park property.


 
Visitor Center Visitor Center/Entrance Station

The Patagonia Lake Visitor Center/Entrance Station is open all year except Christmas Day. Hours are from 8:30 am – 5 pm November through March. April through October hours are the same except on Fridays hours are 7 am – 10 pm.

The park has an automatic entrance gate that closes at 10 pm and no entry is allowed until it opens again at 4 am. All camping, day use and annual permits can be purchased here. A small lobby is available with various brochures describing surrounding areas and destinations. Maps are also sold here.

Gift ShopThe Lakeside Market and Gift Shop External Link is operated by the park concessionaire and is located in the boat trailer parking lot. The concession also sells fishing licenses, firewood, grocery items, ice cream, soda, beer and wine and other camping supplies. Boat rentals are also available. Hours vary by season.

Group Day Use Areas Group: Day Use Areas

A group day use area capable of seating 60 people under a ramada is available by reservation for a $25.00 non-refundable fee. Visitors then pay a charge of $10.00 per vehicle up to 4 adults. There are no group camping areas available. Note: Reservations are NOT accepted for holiday weekends.

 
Camping Sites Camping Sites

72 developed campsites with a picnic table, a fire-ring/grill, and parking for 2 vehicles. Select sites also have a ramada. Rates are $17.00 per night per vehicle. Campsites tend to fill up in the evening from May until November. Campsites are first come, first served. Campsite lengths vary but most can accommodate any size RV. Quiet hours (no generators, music, or loud voices) are from 9 pm – 8 am.


Boat Camping Sites Boat-in Camping Sites

12 boat-in campsites are available at $17.00 per night per vehicle. Sites have a picnic table, fire-ring and are accessible by boat only. Some sites have portable restrooms. Quiet hours (no generators, music, or loud voices) are from from 9 pm – 8 am. Boats are available for rent from Patagonia Marina and Boat Rental External Link, located in the boat trailer parking lot.

  
Electric RV Sites Non Electric RV Sites RV Sites

34 electric RV sites are available on a first come, first served basis. Sites include a picnic table, a fire ring, water hook-up and 30 amp electrical service. Some sites are located on the shoreline. No sewer hook-up. Campsite lengths vary but most can accommodate any size RV. Quiet hours (no generators, music, or loud voices) are from 9 pm – 8 am. $25.00 per night per vehicle.

Hiking Hiking Trails

Patagonia Lake offers a .5-mile hiking trail that leads to Sonoita Creek and is a very popular birding area. Additional trails can be accessed through Sonoita Creek State Natural Area.

Fishing Fishing

Large mouth bass, flathead catfish, channel catfish, crappie, bluegill, red ear and green ear sunfish maintain healthy populations in this 265-acre man-made lake. Rainbow trout are stocked in the winter months only. Fishing licenses can be purchased at the concession in the park.

A valid Arizona fishing license is required for anglers fourteen and older. Licensing information is available online at Arizona Game & Fish, or purchase a fishing license at a local dealer.

 
Swimming Swimming

Patagonia Lake allows swimming in any part of the lake except the boat launch areas. The lake is considered to be wild water and swimmers swim at their own risk. There is a roped off swim area at Boulder Beach, but there is no lifeguard on duty. Swimming is at your own risk.

 
Boat Ramp Boat Ramp

2 boat ramps are available at Patagonia Lake. Your day use or camping permit will cover boat launching with no additional fees. Ramps are cement and can handle most size boats when water level is normal.

 
Boat Ramp Canoeing Watercraft

Both motorized and non-motorized boating are allowed at Patagonia Lake. There is no horsepower restriction, however, above-water exhausted boats and personal watercraft (PWCs) are prohibited.

The lake is divided into 2 sections: the east end is no wake speed only and the west end is for unlimited speed in a counter clockwise direction. High-speed boats can enter the east section but must travel at a no wake speed.

Water-Skiing is allowed on weekdays and weekends from October 1st through April 30th. From May 1st until October 1st water-skiing is allowed on weekdays but not on weekends or legal holidays due to congestion.
