Lyman Lake is a unique location located 6,000 feet above sea level. With camping cabins, yurts, beaches, campsites and interesting petroglyph and archaeological ruins, it's a special place to live and volunteer.

Visitor Services
The visitor services volunteer's primary duties are to carry out operations of contact station and lake store. Duties include greeting visitors, collecting fees, taking reservations, answering phones, and providing park and area information. Other duties may include interpretive education programs & tours. Will work with minimal supervision with staff support immediately available. May be a local resident or live on park at a provided full hookup campsite where available. Onsite volunteer term is 3 - 6 months, working 20 hours a week per person, 5 days a week. Local resident term is a flexible 8+ hours per month. Schedule is flexible. Computer knowledge is helpful.
Campground Host
Campground Host's primary responsibility is to maintain the park's campgrounds. This includes assisting the park's camping visitors, maintaining campsites, providing information, and communicating park rules and regulations (not enforcing them). Campground hosts are to be observant for activities that require Ranger involvement such as enforcement issues, medical situations and to notify necessary staff when needed. Hosts make regular checks on restroom/shower buildings and perform light cleaning tasks (toilet paper refill & sweeping) and notify staff of situations that require additional attention. Hosts need to make constant rounds through the campground to maintain sites by litter pickup, raking, removing trip hazards, cleaning fire grills, mowing, trimming, and pruning of lawns and trees. May perform minor repairs and maintenance of irrigation system and equipment as requested. When campground duties are caught up, the hosts' often assist Rangers and other volunteers with additional projects & duties throughout the park. The campground hosts live onsite at a provided full hook up campsite. Onsite volunteer term is 3 – 6 months, working 20 hours a week per person, 5 days a week. Schedule is flexible. May through October.
Maintenance Host
Maintenance Service Volunteer will assist the park staff with general maintenance, cleaning of Cabins and Yurts, small construction projects among others. Examples include daily park up keep, trail work, painting, plumbing, weeding, or other projects designated by the Volunteer Coordinator. Onsite volunteer term is 3 – 6 months, working 20 hours a week per person, 5 days a week. Schedule is flexible. May through October.
