Suvoyuki Days: August 1, 2009
On August 1, 2009, Homolovi State Park held its annual Suvoyuki Days. "Suvoyuki" translated in the Hopi language means to accomplish work through a "joint effort." Suvoyuki Days celebrates the partners who have helped to protect and save Homolovi area archaeological and cultural sites from destruction.

Early on Saturday morning, the Homolovi Talavai Warikháalaya-Homolovi Morning Run began. This is a 6.5 mile & 4 mile cross-country course. Throughout the day there were cultural demonstrations, Hopi artists, pottery firing, Hopi program and non-profit booths handing out material, and food vendors served delicious Fry Bread and Indian Burgers.
Archaeology Tours were offered by by Rich Lange, University of Arizona, and Lisa Young, University of Michigan. There was also a Hopi Ethnobotany Tour by Micah Loma’omvaya. Homolovi Dancers presented traditional Hopi social dances to park visitors.
